We had such a fun afternoon today presenting our Inquiry projects to the class.

Harlan

Which area of the arts did you choose and why? I chose music because my buddy did.

What did you want to find out? To learn another song.
What did you learn when you were planning and doing your research?

Miss Craig helped us sing and learn the words.

What emotion were you expressing through your project? I am going to feel nervous, you will feel happy.
What did you enjoy the most and learn through the express yourself inquiry?

My favourite part was working with Connor and learning a new song.

Alyvia

Which area of the arts did you choose and why? I chose art because I like painting.

What did you want to find out? I wanted to find out how to draw trees.
What did you learn when you were planning and doing your research?

Blossom trees can be red and white.

Explain what you did for your project and the steps you took to create it.

First I painted the tree trunk and branches. Then I dipped my finger into pink paint and dabbed it onto the paper.

What emotion were you expressing through your project? Happiness
What did you enjoy the most and learn through the express yourself inquiry? My favourite part of the inquiry was watching different dances.

Blake

Which area of the arts did you choose and why? I chose music because I wanted to learn more about it.

What did you want to find out?

I wanted to find out how to play the drums.

What did you learn when you were planning and doing your research? How to play the drums.
Explain what you did for your project and the steps you took to create it. First I made a drum using a bucket and some duct tape.  Then Louis taught me how to play.
What emotion were you expressing through your project?

Happiness

What did you enjoy the most and learn through the express yourself inquiry? My favourite part of the inquiry was playing the drums. It was fun.

Sofia

Which area of the arts did you choose and why? I chose art because it is creative.

What did you want to find out?

I wanted to find out how to draw zoo animals.

What did you learn when you were planning and doing your research? I found out there were easy ways to draw them.  
Explain what you did for your project and the steps you took to create it. I looked up pictures on the computer. I drew with vivid and black pencil then coloured it in with coloured pencils. I cut it out and glued it onto a blue piece of paper.
What emotion were you expressing through your project? Happiness
What did you enjoy the most and learn through the express yourself inquiry? I enjoyed drawing with vivid. I learnt about music.

Benji

Which area of the arts did you choose and why?

I chose art because I get to create stuff.

What did you want to find out? I wanted to find out how to make an envelope.
What did you learn when you were planning and doing your research?

I learnt how to do it by watching videos and following along step by step.

Explain what you did for your project and the steps you took to create it.

I watched youtube to create it.

What emotion were you expressing through your project?

I was happy because I had never made one before.

What did you enjoy the most and learn through the express yourself inquiry?

I enjoyed it because it was fun.

Dontae

Which area of the arts did you choose and why? I chose dance so I could learn moves.

What did you want to find out?

I wanted to learn about famous dancers and to make a dance to show the class.

What did you learn when you were planning and doing your research?

You need to keep in time and to be focused and confident. Practice makes perfect.

Explain what you did for your project and the steps you took to create it.

I found a song I liked and made up some moves with a stick.  

What emotion were you expressing through your project? Surprise.
What did you enjoy the most and learn through the express yourself inquiry? My favourite part of the inquiry was learning about drama when we watched Mr Bean.

Ashley

Which area of the arts did you choose and why? I chose art because I like it.

What did you want to find out? How to make a friendship bracelet.
What did you learn when you were planning and doing your research? That friendship bracelets are different to other bracelets.
Explain what you did for your project and the steps you took to create it.
1. Get string and wrap it around my wrist.
2. Cut the size of my wrist.
3. Repeat two more times.
4. Tie a knot at the top and braid them together.
What emotion were you expressing through your project? Happiness. I felt happy when I made them with Paige.
What did you enjoy the most and learn through the express yourself inquiry?

My favourite part of the inquiry was sewing because it’s something I’m good at.

James

Which area of the arts did you choose and why? I chose drama because I love plays.

What did you want to find out? I wanted to find out more about plays.
What did you learn when you were planning and doing your research?

Blossom trees can be red and white.

Explain what you did for your project and the steps you took to create it.

First we read books and plays and found out you need characters, props and a set. Then we made a plan and wrote a script.

What emotion were you expressing through your project? Happiness
What did you enjoy the most and learn through the express yourself inquiry? My favourite part of the inquiry was when we made a script. It was fun.

Kobe

Which area of the arts did you choose and why? I chose music because I love it.

What did you want to find out?

I wanted to find out more about music.

What did you learn when you were planning and doing your research?

I learnt how to make a poster on the computer to advertise my show.

The steps were pretty hard. I had to go on the computer to learn all of it.

What emotion were you expressing through your project? Happiness. I was so proud of myself when I did it.
What did you enjoy the most and learn through the express yourself inquiry?

My favourite part of the inquiry was doing the arts rotation. I learnt heaps in all of the classes. I liked being with Mrs Davis the best because we did music.

Annalise

Which area of the arts did you choose and why? I chose art because I like drawing things and people.

What did you want to find out?

I wanted to find out how to draw a garden background.

What did you learn when you were planning and doing your research?

How to draw a bird.

Explain what you did for your project and the steps you took to create it.

First I painted a bush then used vivid for the outlines. Then I painted the sky blue and drew a bird, clouds and flowers with pastel.

What did you enjoy the most and learn through the express yourself inquiry?

My favourite part of the inquiry was learning how to make animations because I liked to move the cars all around with Alyvia.

Paige S

Which area of the arts did you choose and why? I chose art because I l wanted to learn more about it.

What did you want to find out?

I wanted to find out who painted Mona Lisa.

What did you learn when you were planning and doing your research?

What you need to make a painting.

Explain what you did for your project and the steps you took to create it.

I made an Aurora picture. This is what I did. Draw a rose in a glass cage. Then draw Aurora’s dress on a stand outside with the rose.

What emotion were you expressing through your project? I was feeling sad because it was when Aurora was asleep for a really long time.
What did you enjoy the most and learn through the express yourself inquiry?

I enjoyed painting because I got to use lots of different colours.

Sophie

Which area of the arts did you choose and why? I chose art because drawing is fun.

What did you want to find out?

I learnt how to paint.

First I drew the trunk. Then I dipped my finger in the paint to make blossoms.

What did you want to find out?

I wanted to find out how to shade a picture to make it look more realistic.

I found out different ways to draw scorpions.

What did you want to find out?

I wanted to find out how to make a friendship bracelet.

What did you learn when you were planning and doing your research?

That friendship bracelets are different to other bracelets.

First I got some string and then I braided it.

What emotion were you expressing through your project? Happy because you are happy when you are with your friends.
What did you enjoy the most and learn through the express yourself inquiry? My favourite part of the inquiry was making them.

Which area of the arts did you choose and why? I chose art.  

What did you want to find out?

I wanted to find out how to make a picture look realistic.

What did you learn when you were planning and doing your research?

I learnt how to draw a scorpion.

I searched how to draw a scorpion step by step. I started with pencil then used felt pens. Then I got some bark from outside and stuck it on with pva glue.

What did you enjoy the most and learn through the express yourself inquiry? My favourite part of the inquiry was making animations because it was interesting and fun.

Louis

Which area of the arts did you choose and why? I chose music because it encourages people to learn about rhythms.

What did you want to find out?

I wanted to find out how to play the drums and guitar.

What did you learn when you were planning and doing your research?I learnt more about music like strumming and tapping.

I wanted to find out how to make a pink blossom tree.

I made a blossom tree. First I sketched it. Then I added paint and pastel.

I wanted to find out more about music.
What did you learn when you were planning and doing your research?

How to sing.

Explain what you did for your project and the steps you took to create it.

Miss Craig printed off the Happy lyrics then we spent lots of time singing.  

What emotion were you expressing through your project?I was feeling happy.
What did you enjoy the most and learn through the express yourself inquiry?

My favourite part of the inquiry was doing animation with Mrs Grant.

I wanted to find out about plays.

What did you learn when you were planning and doing your research? All about plays.
Explain what you did for your project and the steps you took to create it. We read plays and found out how they are set out. Then we made one up.  
What emotion were you expressing through your project? Happy and confused.

I wanted to find out how to perform better.

How to perform and new moves.
