Term 1, Week 6

In maths we have been learning Statistics. We have been data detectives and planned our own
statistical investigations with a buddy to learn more about each other. We came up with a question
then gathered information and recorded it in a table with tally marks. We then made a bar graph with
our data and wrote statements about what we found out. Then we shared our findings with the class.

Here’s what we found out….

Blythe and Shivaan wanted to find out what Room 25’s favourite food was. They found out that the
most popular choice was McDonalds and the second most popular choice was Burger King. The third
most popular choice was pizza.

Summer and Dia wanted to find out what was Room 25’s favourite sport. The most popular choice
was swimming. The least popular choice was softball. Netball and Rugby got the same number of
votes.

Bella and Lorien were interested in finding out what animals our class liked. The most popular
choices were cat, dolphin and other. The least popular choice was parrot.

Christina, Blake and Becky wanted to find out what restaurants people in Room 25 like going to
the most. McDonalds was the most popular restaurant. Lonestar and Curry Leaf got the same
number of votes and the least popular choice was other.

Daymion and Mitchell were investigating types of dance. The most popular choice was other.
The least popular choice was tap dancing. Three people like ballet.

Harry and Bessie wanted to find out what Room 25’s favourite colour was. Gold was the most
popular choice. Pink got the least number of votes.

Korey and June were investigating pets. Cats and other got the most votes. Mice was the least
popular choice.

Jay and Azaria wanted to know what colours people in Room 25 like. They were surprised that
only one person liked gold because gold is a cool colour. Green was the least popular choice.

Shin and Kane’s question was “What is your favourite character?”. They found out that the most
popular choice was Steve. Moro got one more vote than Santa Claus.

Flynn and Tyler wanted to know what colour car people in Room 25 like the most. The most
popular choice was other. The least popular choice was brown, bronze and beige. The second most
popular choice was yellow.

Amorangi and Irie were investigating drinks. Room 25’s favourite drink is coke. The least popular
choice was lemonade and L&P.

Eden and Briana wanted to know what food we like in Room 25. McDonalds and candy were
most popular. KFC, gummies and other all got the same amount of votes.
